Metrognome aka Karl White creates and performs music using custom software and touchscreen technologies. Design philosophy: software interfaces need not mimic hardware interfaces; vegetarian dishes need not mimic carnivore dishes.

Powhaus Productions joining Second Saturdays
Powhaus will produce a monthly event (and starting much earlier than past Powhaus events–at 6pm) entertaining you with their variety shows: Djs, video artists, bands, hosts, and other performances. Each show will still be crafted around a particular theme and, as always with Powhaus events, everyone is welcome to participate, in costume or not.
Each Second Saturday show will have two parts. From 6pm-9pm the show will be FREE and will feature a soul music dance party (think The Supremes, Gladys Knight, Curtis Mayfield, etc). For those of you who have wanted to go to Powhaus parties, but they ran too late for you, here is your answer. Feel free to come and lounge or dance.
After 9pm, $5 gets you in the door for a full on production with live music, hosts, video art, drink specials and the usual shenanigans you have come to expect from a Powhaus show. Only Powhaus is aiming to amp it up even more. Party goes until 2am.
“Hot off their national tour with Meat Beat Manifesto, Metrognome (Not Breathing) and Falcotronik (Kid DJ, Not Breathing) are back with another slice of culture-jamming mayhem Thug Life Of Bugs. Fusing elements of Underground Glitch-Hop, Flowcore vocals, Dub, media paranoia and face melting sub bass Thug Life Of Bugs is the next level of the duals collaborative experiments in electronica and conceptual social programing.”
It’s out on Hakatak and available for consumption. Watch for the DVD in progress which contains the videos by Falcotronik for each song. Special thanks to Paul Robb for helping this release find its way off my hard drives.

“The technology behind the video performance can be extremely elaborate. Karl White, also known as “Metrognome,” and Zeke “Falcotronik” Prebluda from Tucson misuse advanced audio and video equipment in their performances.”
“..Building instruments and effects in Reaktor is a lot like building your own hardware. But ever wished those fabulous UIs you’ve seen could be used via something other than … ugh … your mouse? View Reaktor with a touchscreen or touch-controlled projection, and it’s an entirely different game. We already knew Tim Exile was a fan of touchscreens, but here’s what it can do in the hands of another Reaktor master.”
